Let’s Go Moreton Bay Region – 2017 Calendar of Events

With the Redcliffe Festival of Sails the 2017 Let’s Go Moreton Bay Region Calendar of Events is truly under way. This calendar consists of a multitude of events for all ages that take place all over the Moreton Bay Region. If you haven’t seen the extensive calendar yet, here is a brief overview to show you why the Moreton Bay Region is the place to be in 2017.

 

Hills Carnivale

Saturday, 27 May

George Willmore Park, Ferny Hills

The Hills Carnivale brings to a close the huge 2017 Hills Festival celebrations. The Hills Carnivale: a fiesta of fun, food and family entertainment!

If you’re looking for some family fun, don’t forget to add The Hills Carnivale to your calendar! The annual event held on May 27 is free to enter, with a whole host of activities for little kids and big kids alike.

From 12pm to 7.30pm visitors can enjoy live music from artists such as Dave Orr Band, Kent Tonscheck, The Curly Cousins, and Nickelby the Magician.

There will also be plenty of shopping to be had at the lifestyle markets and multicultural food stalls. The kids will have lots to keep them busy with rides, stilt walkers and roving performers throughout the park.

Moreton Bay Motor Show

Saturday 17 and Sunday 18, June

Pine Rivers Park, Strathpine

Start your engines and cruise on into the Moreton Bay Motor Show. Over two massive days Pine Rivers Park in Strathpine will play host to vintage and customs car displays, bike and truck displays, special guest speakers, motoring workshops, and amped up live music performances from Aussie icons.

Introduce the little ones to the world of cars at the Little Greasers zone. And check out the huge trade stall displays from some of the country’s best motoring brands. The Moreton Bay Motor Show brings a full weekend of motoring brilliance to the Moreton Bay Region on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18, June. Tickets on sale soon!

 


Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run

Crockatt Park, woody Point

The 31st Annual Jetty 2 Jetty Fun Run is back in 2017!

See why thousands of fans return each year for Queensland's Most Scenic Fun Run.

All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Whether you're a seasoned runner or taking the step into your first ever fun run, the J2J has a race category to suit you.

There are four race categories to enter including:

Gleeson Klein Stegeman Lawyers Half Marathon (21km)
Bupa 10km
Dolphins Health Precinct 5km
Quest Community News 3km

TEAM DISCOUNT
This year you can enter as an individual runner or as a team. Teams with over 10 people receive a 10% discount.

CASH PRIZES

Redcliffe KiteFest

Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 August

Pelican Park, Clontarf

Families will get swept away in the fun, colour and excitement of the annual Redcliffe KiteFest where kites of all shapes and sizes fill the sky. 2017 will be the biggest KiteFest yet with a huge contingent of international and domestic kite flyers set to come together in Pelican Park.

Redcliffe KiteFest 2017 is the Ultimate Kids Weekend. The KiteFest main stage will be jumping when two Children’s shows perform. KiteFest Kidz returns with a huge array of free activities. There’s also kite making workshops, aerobatic displays, water shows, AND the largest number of carnival rides Redcliffe KiteFest has ever seen!

The whole family will love the markets, huge array of love music and amazing roving performers. See you there!

Scarborough Sounds

Scarborough Beach Park, Scarborough

Jetty Fiesta

Saturday, 9 September

Redcliffe Parade, Redcliffe

Redcliffe Parade will come alive on Saturday 9, September for this year’s Jetty Fiesta.

This free event will feature stage entertainment, spectacular light displays, Island-inspired acts, beach performances, fire-twirling and a few extra surprises! PLUS the biggest fireworks display ever seen in the Moreton Bay Region exploding from the Redcliffe Jetty.

Wander through the twilight markets and food stalls or enjoy dinner at a local restaurant soaking up the cool beach style atmosphere. There is something for everyone at this year’s Jetty Fiesta!
